In addition to your monthly mortgage payment, some communities also have a homeowner's association fee, commonly known as an HOA. This fee covers the maintenance of the entrance monument, landscaping of common areas, and other unique features of the community. As you look to find a new home, be sure to inquire about HOA fees. Some communities offer association maintenance meaning your snow removal, and lawn care will be taken care of and others do not.
