Last week Creative Homes hosted our trade partners at Machine Shed in Woodbury to cover important relevant topics, showcase latest innovations, and ultimately foster our valued trade partnerships. At Creative Homes, our trade partners work WITH us, not for us.
The summit started with Creative Homes' Owner and President, Nick Hackworthy, giving huge kudos to our trades and thanking them for their contributions in helping Creative win a National Housing Quality Award! The award recognizes home builders and trade partners who demonstrate a commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Our company is thankful for our trade's dedication and expertise in building homes that meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Nick then shared some current insights on the state of the housing market and recognized the critical role played by our valued trade partners in the challenges home builders have been facing over the past year. Although there are challenges, the current market presents opportunities for creative solutions where we can embrace new technologies and work collaboratively to meet the evolving needs of our homeowners. 2023 has the potential to be a great year!
A highlight of the Summit was the presentation by Doug Smith, the Vice President of Construction, who discussed safety and the use of technology on job sites to improve work efficiency and ensure everyone is on the same page. In today's fast-paced environment, technology can help construction teams to streamline their workflow, track progress, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget using our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. We can help to reduce errors, improve communication, and increase safety on the job site by actively updating information on the ERP including the use of photography by trades.
Doug addressed the need for trade partners to take a proactive approach to safety and work together to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them. Safety should always be a top priority for everyone on the job site! Doug concluded with emphasizing that our trades are not just vendors but are an essential part of the Creative Homes team.
Jake Pepper, our Director of Purchasing, also shared some insights on the bidding process, cost management, and the importance of working collaboratively with our trade partners to keep costs down. Jake discussed how we can identify areas where costs can be reduced, negotiate pricing, and explore opportunities for shared savings. We want to reduce costs without compromising on quality or safety! By working closely with trade partners, Creative Homes can continue to be a competitive builder while delivering high-quality homes to our customers.
The event wrapped up with a chance to mingle amongst trades and Creative employees. Our team is truly so grateful to work with our trade partnerships and enjoy doing events like this! We look forward to the next Trade Summit.
